Could anyone please advise me how I can put a Microsoft Access 2007 database on the BO Server, so that I can create a Universe out of it in Universe Design Tool (UDT) 4.1 ? The database contains Production data and is stored in the user's Shared Drive. It was created by exporting a Data-Set from SAS Enterprise Guide 5.1. Thanks.

By default for any object/report the remove duplicate rows check box - is grayed out.. in Webi query properties.
Any how ideas how to enable it.

I am getting query error after removing @Prompt in Derived Table. I have no clue at all, only @Prompt is being removing but after validate the query I am getting query error.Below is my @prompt function wanted to remove.
@Prompt('Enter This Year','C','Year Others',mono,constrained)
'Year Others' is the List of Value which I created in IDT.
BusinessObjects currently offers OData v2 driver, which seems to be incompatible with some Entities of the EDM that have been introduced this year with OData v4. For instance if you try to use an OData v4 service with a "Singleton", you get an unsupported error popup, when testing the Odata connection. See attachment.
Has anyone faced similar issues and found a workaround? Is there any information about when BusinessObjects will support OData v4?

1.What are the requirements for creating multi source universe?
2.it supports or not creating universe on top of sap and non sap data sources? if it supports.how its possible?

Hi All,
I have used the Begin_Sql parameter in my universe for Query_Band. Just need to confirm one thing that does view script in web intelligence generates the Begin_Sql syntax in the backend0.
Currenly i'm not able to see it. Though I checked at database i.e.Teradata i'm able to see who has ran the report with all parameter values visible at database.
Also want to check how much time report tool to run as well with Query_band
Please confirm. Also any link confirming this thing would be great!

I found many discussions about this “simple” requirement, but I did not find a solution.
I simply like to export the universe metadata into an Excel or CSV containing classes, dimensions, attributes, KPIs, description, SQL statement, Datatype...
It was possible for UNV using a tool provided by the BO Forum www.forumtopics.com– this was handmade solution but very useful. On the other side we have also to document the UNX universes. I could not find anything out-of-the-box for this.
The IDT is only able to save the Universe metadata into PDF, HTML or TXT (but not in a data-structured format).
I now there are SDK’s available, but I’m looking for a "solution" :-).
Can anyone help me?

I have a universe (3.1 SP4) on top of a BEx query.This query has a info object with two display attributes having same description in BW.But when a universe is built on top of this query then only one (instead of two) detail object is seen for this info object. Is this how designer works or is there a workaround for this issue ?
I want to know the options for linking universe in 4.0 and above. was it discontinued on IDT. I do not see the option of how to link the universe in 4.0;
in 3.x we do it by File> parameter> Add Link and we add the universe. Similarly do we have any other options if not the same in IDT.
I do not see any discussion on linking universe in IDT.
The current alternative that I have is to build them in UDT and upgrate them to UNX. Before that I would like to try doing it in IDT.
Hi,i have a requirement that is every user or some set of users or different groups getting different results? actually in this scenario we have two types of restrictions are there,those are 1. data level security or row level restriction,2.Business level security or object level restriction,but my client said implement this scenario with out row and object level.......how it possible....but i heard its possible in connection level...so how to define this and definition steps please...

where i am trying to migrate all 200 user by CMC----Promotion Management but getting below error message and not able to migrate

I have a date field in IDT Universe which shows date in this format: Dec 13,2014 12.00.00 PM. Now I want to extract first day and last day of month from this date value. For example: here I want to see Dec 01,2014 12:00:00 PM and Dec 31, 2014 12:00:00 PM in First day of month and Last day of month columns. Also, if database date value is Nov 17, 2014 12:00:00 PM then in first day of month column, it should show Nov 01, 2014 12:00:00 PM and in last day of month it should show Nov 30, 2014 12:00:00 PM.
I got some google help but 'Date' function is not supported by IDT tool in BusinessObjects.

I am very new to this scenario, my client is having impala tables in hadoop hive 5.2. I need to connect Business Objects universe to create the schema.
My Questions are:
1. Prerequisite to proceed.
2. Can we use UDT to create the universe ? I know we can use IDT but i am more concerned on UDT.
3. I have Hadoop has a VMWare are Business objects 4.1 sp3 both are in a single machine, what else is required to connect. Do i need any drivers as a middle-ware if so where can i get it and how to deploy it.

I get SQL query error if I get Year(Getdate()) inside the Case statement, but it ok when Getdate() in derived table.

Trying to convert Year(Getdate()) to numeric because data type of @prompt is in 'N' but still I get SQL Query error.
